DOJ Charges Against Suspected Pipe Bomber Cesar Sayoc
The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a five-count complaint against South Florida resident Cesar Altieri Sayoc.
The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a complaint charging Cesar Altieri Sayoc over his alleged involvement in sending 13 pipe bomb packages to prominent political figures, including two former U.S. Presidents; Barack Obama, and Bill and Hillary Clinton.
At a Washington press conference earlier today, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the bomb threats “utterly unacceptable,” and said the investigation is “a top priority.”
“We will not tolerate such lawlessness, especially not political violence,” the Attorney General said.
FBI Special Agent David Brown signed the document, that brings five charges against Cesar Altieri Sayoc, including illegal mailing of explosives and assaulting federal officers.
Although these charges have been filed through a New York Federal Court, he still could face additional charges in Florida.
