BURGLARS RETURN TO STEAL TRUCK-First, the burglars took valuables; then they made $600 in purchases before returning a week after the crime to steal the victim’s truck. Now, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking to arrest three people suspected of burglary, fraud and theft.
PIO Number: 18-8-27
Date: Aug. 31, 2018
Around 9:30 a.m. July 10, an Oakland Park resident’s home was burglarized. A number of personal and valuable items were taken from the house that sits on Northwest 18th Avenue such as jewelry, keys, credit cards and a passport. Later that day, three young men were spotted on surveillance video at a Publix grocery store using the victim’s credit card to buy gift cards.
The suspects left the grocery store at 1140 S.W. 36th Ave. in Pompano Beach in a silver four-door Kia.
The burglars returned to the victim’s home seven days later and boldly drove off with his 2019 GMC Canyon truck. It was recovered later that day in Pompano Beach.
One suspect has a thin build and wore black slides, a red adidas shirt and red shorts. His hair appears to be styled in dreadlocks that he wore in a ponytail. He also sported sunglasses and a double-strand necklace.
The second suspect is also slim. On that July day, he wore shades, a maroon Gap T-shirt and jeans. His hair was cut in a low afro.
The third accomplice had a short haircut and wore a striped navy blue polo shirt.
