Can police arrest, or threaten to arrest me for merely video recording them performing their duties?
No, they cannot. Be care though not to get arrested for interfering.
When video recording in public, can I use sound or audio?
It all comes down to a reasonable expectation of privacy. For example; If you are in a restaurant and you can hear what is being said at the table next to you, and you either intentionally, or by accident, record that conversation, you should be OK. However, if you are sitting in a bathroom stall in that same restaurant, and record that conversation, you could get into trouble. Get it?
How about court, can I record my court hearing?
In Florida, more the most part yes. The defendant has the most rights to limit cameras in court. The judge has a lot of authority when it comes to this to. Different circuits have different rules.
