Preface

Injustice In Broward The Larry Rothi Story-It’s not easy at all, to prove someone is innocent of a crime that they themselves have plead guilty to. Some might even ask, “Why bother?”.  After all, he plead guilty so he must of at least had something to do with it. In this case nothing could be further from the truth, and we are taking the time to do this because we believe we can convince you of it.

Whether or not you have ever been in trouble with the law, or otherwise been accused of something you didn’t do, we’re sure you can understand that to somehow want to clear your name, even if in a small and maybe insignificant way, would become very important to you.

Don’t let the picture of Larry above give you any preconceived ideas. He had no prior felony record and only had a few traffic offences.  In fact, he’s only gotten a speeding ticket since.

He plead guilty like so many others who have never been in serious trouble before for one simple reason, flat out fear, and the criminal justice system as it is, uses this intentional tactic to intimidate an innocent person into doing so.

This also involves another person named Richard Barker.

Richard has a felony record and actually admitted to some part of the crime.

Richard says several things to the police. One being his family are also sheriff’s deputy’s assigned to protect judges. He also makes several statements to police that he works for them as an informant. He lies over and over to detectives, and finally admits to being the one who actually shot the gun.

We have all the evidence that would have been used at trial including the police interrogation videos of both Larry and Richard, DNA results from the gun that proves Larry never touched it, and more.

So as we said before, it is not easy to prove someone like this innocent. So this article will be done in several segments.

This being the preface, the next we will give you a history of plea bargaining in the American judicial system, then we’ll go into the details.

For some background of all this, check out the videos of the police interrogations of both Larry Rothi and Richard Barker.
