THIEVES VIOLENTLY ROB FEMALE VICTIM
Detectives are searching for the individuals who robbed a woman as she placed her groceries in her trunk, and then viciously kicked at the victim when she tried to stop them.
At about 5:30 p.m. July 29, a 61-year-old woman was preoccupied placing her groceries into her car in the Walmart parking lot at 4700 S. Flamingo Road in Cooper City. The victim caught the eye of a group of thieves in a dark car.
The thieves pulled up near the victim’s car. A male with long dreadlocks jumped out, grabbed the victim’s purse and jumped back into the back seat of the car. The victim ran after the thief and grabbed the purse, preventing his escape.
In order to break the victim’s grip, the thief kicked the woman several times in the chest, causing her to fall back onto the pavement. The victim sustained injuries to her chest and elbows and received treatment at Memorial West Hospital.
About an hour after the violent theft, a male was captured by security cameras at the Walmart, at 3001 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, attempting to use the victim’s stolen credit card to purchase a PlayStation. The suspect wore a blue striped hoodie, a white undershirt and camouflage pants.
