Reward-GAS STATION PROVES TO BE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY FOR CAR BURGLAR
Reward-Date: March 30, 2017 PIO Number: 17-3-38
Reward-It’s a common mistake. You tell yourself you will only be away for a moment and decide to leave your belongings in your car. But that moment is all it takes for a thief to see you as their target.
On the morning of March 9, an opportunistic thief saw his opening at the Mobil at 1108 Weston Road and took it, along with a Louis Vuitton purse and wallet, some cash, several credit cards and a cellphone. Broward Sheriff’s Office Weston detectives are investigating the car burglary.
The gas station’s security cameras captured the thief as he paid for his gas and again as he made his way to the victim’s car to steal her belongings.
The thief is described as a black male with a medium build, possibly in his early 20s, with short dark hair and a goatee. He wore a purple polo shirt with “PRO EM” insignia and blue cargo shorts. He fled in a black vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Det. Michael Kravecz at 954-659-3531.
