A Dania Beach homeowner had a rude awakening when dawn broke. His home had been tarred, and now Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing surveillance video of the vandals in the hopes that someone can identify them.

The culprits used the cover of dark on Sept. 29, 2016 to toss tar on the driveway, front door and front entrance. In the video, the males can be seen arriving in a minivan and then laboring to carry buckets of the flammable liquid to the front of the home. One suspect, wearing a hooded sweater, appears to direct his buddy on which part of the house to coat. The criminal duo then pops the lids off the cans of roofing tar and unleashes the sticky substance on the homeowner’s property. The owner estimates they caused $3,000 in damage.

One suspect is wearing shorts and a shirt over his head. The other vandal has on long pants, a hooded sweater and dark-colored shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Ryan Schnakenberg at 954-518-0138. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
