SUSPECT ROBS PARKLAND WOMAN OF HER SENSE OF SECURITY

Date: Feb. 13, 2017              PIO Number: 17-2-12

The first sign that something was amiss was that the security gate to the patio was ajar. Now, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives need help identifying the male who stole a Parkland woman’s sense of security and her valuables.

Around 9:20 a.m. Jan. 12, the suspect forced his way into a home in the 6100 block of Northwest 74th Terrace. He ransacked several rooms in the Pine Tree Estates residence looking for loot.

The perpetrator may have had some hesitation about going into the home, based on witness accounts and surveillance video. He seemed undecided about where to park, first stopping in the driveway and then in front of the home. He eventually left the silver Jeep Compass only to return to the SUV to retrieve a tool of his criminal trade. When he emerged from the home, decidedly in a rush, he had a duffle bag of jewelry in hand.

The burglar is described as a thin male about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches. He appears to be in his late teens to early 20s. He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, black hoodie and black pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Det. Brian Goolsby at 954-509-1457. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
