THIEVES STEAL F250 TO USE IN SECOND THEFT

Date: Jan. 24, 2017                         PIO Number: 17-1-15

On the evening of Nov. 14, security cameras captured two thieves committing two crimes with one end game.
The unidentified men drove a newer model white SUV past a blue 2003 Ford F250 parked at 4807 N.E. 11th Ave. in Oakland Park.

The thieves stole the F250, which had a Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 pistol inside. Minutes later, they used the truck to commit a second crime just one block away.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., one of the two thieves backed the stolen truck up to a 2016 Cherokee Grey Wolf travel trailer parked at 4706 N.E. 12th Ave. Video captured the man as he hitched and prepped the trailer, and drove off moments later.

The trailer was filled with various items including a golf cart, a Bass Pro Shop portable kitchen, multiple folding tables and a red portable ice machine.

The F250 was recovered in Homestead. The gun and trailer have not been found.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the two thieves. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Det. Luis Silberberg at (954) 202-3121 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
