SECURITY FOOTAGE MAY HOLD THE KEY TO IDENTIFYING FOUR CAR BURGLARS

Date: Jan. 26, 2017                        PIO Number: 17-1-16

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for the four individuals captured by security cameras on the evening of Dec. 26 as they smashed car windows and grabbed purses in a Weston parking lot.

The four thieves drove a white Kia Optima with dark tints. They backed into a parking space outside of a gym located at 1440 Northpark Drive in Weston. Each of the thieves opened the car’s four doors at once, possibly in an attempt to shield the camera’s view of the crime. They smashed the windows of the cars parked on both sides of their own and stole three purses left inside by the victims.

The same Kia was seen at the Orange Theory on Weston Road earlier that night where an additional car was burglarized with a similar MO; smashed windows and stolen purse. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Det. Fred Anderson at (954) 389-2010 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
